For a long time, I was doing everything manually.

Logging into one device… then the next… then the next.
Running the same commands. Fixing the same issues.
And every time, I thought — *this is just part of the job.*

But it started getting frustrating.

Not because the work was hard…
but because it was repetitive.

And deep down, I knew something wasn’t right.


One day, after spending hours doing something that felt like it should take minutes, I paused and asked myself:

*“Is this really the best way to do this?”*

That question stayed with me.

I didn’t suddenly become an automation expert overnight.

I started small.

One simple script.
Then another.
Then slowly… things began to change.

Tasks that used to take hours started taking minutes.
And more importantly — I started thinking differently.

Not like someone who executes tasks…
but like someone who builds systems.


This series is just me sharing that journey.

No big claims.
No “become expert in 24 hours” promises.

Being a network engineer , i was mostly involved in doing manual task -Logging into device , checking config and repeating the same steps over and over again. I had heard about Python and automation while I was curious but was not able to decide where to start. Startled thinking of automate some task which was done manually and was taking lot of time.

One day i decided to learn something new. I watched a few YouTube videos on Python, read some blog posts, and started trying out small scripts.

The first time I used a script to log into multiple devices and pull configs automatically — I felt like I had superpowers! It wasn’t perfect, but it worked. And that gave me the push to keep going.

I Started learning and got the basics clear .I am still not expert but better than before. I till remember installing Python 2 and running the first hello Program.

As I am getting deeper into network automation , i am realizing that Network automation is not just something fancy add on but now slowly becoming a must have.

The wave didn't stopped there, as i was polishing python and ansible concepts ,their comes the AI wave .

I was curious -Could chatgpt help me tshoot networking issue ?

Could AI with Automation can be next wave in network Industry ? Still its in nascent stage but moving very quickly towards Network+Automation+AI.

I will be sharing whatever i am learning out of curiosity .It may help someone following the same journey as mine.
